If you shift the familiar "campfire" chords E, A, D, C, F, Dm and Am to higher positions up the fingerboard, you will get great and exciting sounds that are very easy to play. I invite you to experiment with these shifts and let me show you how easy it is to (re)discover your guitar in this way. In this course I will also show you my favorite chords using open strings. These delightful chord voicings would not be playable on the guitar without empty strings.

Lesson 1Introduction
Duration: min
Let me introduce you to the topics covered in the course "Magic Chords".
Lesson 2Part 1
Duration: min
In the first part of this chord excursion into higher registers, I often tell you the intervals contained in the chords using chord symbols. Basically, this information is not so relevant (at least at the beginning), because it's all about discovering the fretboard and its possibilities.
Lesson 3Part 2
Duration: min
In this part of the lesson, I'll show you some of my favorite chords and chord progressions with open strings in addition to chord shifts that don't resemble the basic chords. Let the sounds inspire you. Try it out for yourself, too: Fret whatever comes to mind. Maybe you'll get lucky and find some great new sounds this way. See your guitar as a playground for experimentation. But never forget to listen carefully. Trust your ears. If it sounds right, it is right!
